Due to constant demand for Zemanta support in webmail from our users, we released a GMail and Yahoo! Mail support. While it’s useful addition, there are certainly a few situations where you don’t need it. Here’s a quick tutorial how to disable Zematna in GMail.
Firstly, Zemanta only shows in your Gmail when you’re composing or replying to a email.
Default action is to just create a new button “Add Zemanta”:

Clik here to view.
If you see this button it means Zemanta is not active. No content is transferred. That button is the only thing that happens.
If you activate Zemanta, you’ll see a new widget and the button will now say “Remove Zemanta”:

Clik here to view.
Click on it, and all of Zemanta widget will be removed from your GMail. No content will be transfered as well as you’ll see no recommendations. The ony thing that stays is the button.
